Johanna
The stars had been her faithful companion, though they only comfort her during the dark of the night. They guided her. Lead her. And to where? That's a question even Johanna doesn't know. The cold blanket of white was thin in this part of the land - kept out by the trees' leaves. Though the air was still and there was no wind, the cold still bit into her death hued pelt making, in turn, her shiver.
Johanna had had no equine confrontation since she entered this strange land, and wondered if there even was anybody here. After the seemingly endless plains finally ended, the towering columns of saddle brown topped with leafy green meet face to face with Johanna. The aura around the thicket was dark and eerie as the pale moon threw her shadow around onto trees. But something deep inside the wood beckoned to her. She didn't know what awaited her, and that scared her. Nothing scares old, wise, strong, Johanna - but this does. It could be a death sentence waiting to happen, and she would be gaily strolling towards it. Or it could be a treasure. Of what, is the mystery at hand.
Another animal could be luring her to something or anything. The not knowing was killing her from the inside. At this point, Johanna did not care what happened after she found it or whom. Only that she find it. And onwards she plodded. A light crunching sound bounced off the columns for every step she took and slightly filled the empty, somber air. Her auditives were perked and attentive; waiting for a sign something or someone near.
Out of Character; I hope it's okay to post here. There wasn't anyone else posting so I decided it was about time someone did.
